Dear Porter Families,

I have written several times reminding all families that the lane in front of the school is a bus lane only. There are multiple reasons for this; it is a bus lane, a fire lane and during the school day it is sometimes used for deliveries. Students and staff are not expecting traffic to be in this lane and my intention is to avoid accidents. We are lucky to have a parking lot not much further away. Read More

First Grade News

The first graders had an opportunity to observe the butterfly life cycle in their classrooms!  They arrived as eggs and we watched as caterpillars emerged.  They grew bigger and bigger until they went into the chrysalis stage.  How exciting it was to watch so many Painted Lady butterflies emerge!  The students helped the teachers release the butterflies outside the school.  It was such a special way to learn about metamorphosis and bring learning to life!

Middle School, did you know that when you log into ParentPortal you can get more information than just the grades? If you look closely the number or the words are highlighted.  If you click on either a teacher is able to leave you a note about the assignment to give you more information. Sometimes the assignment is late, needs to be redone or still needs to be handed in.  This is a great place to start looking when speaking to your child about his or her assignment.
