Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to reach my child's teacher?
During the school day, I am usually with students, so reaching me by phone is difficult. Contacting me by email is the fastest and surest way to reach me. I realize that there are times when a conversation is necessary and email isn't the optimal way to communicate. If you need to speak to me, please send me an email and I will schedule a time for a call that would work for both of us. Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions/problems.

How is my child graded in Social Studies?
Many items are considered when grading your child. Homework completion and effort, class work and participation, quizzes, exams, and projects all are considered in your child's grade. Please see the list below to understand how items are weighted.

   Homework                    10%
  Class work                     25%
  Quizzes                         15%
  Exams                            25%
  Projects
25%

Where can I find the homework?

Homework is posted on the homework calendar. You can access it from the sixth grade team page or  from the master calendar by using the drop down menu to find the sixth grade calendar. However, it is safe to assume that your child will have homework every day except for Fridays. (Although on rare occasions, Friday homework may be given.)
