Ready Classroom Mathematics

Ready Math is an empowering math program encouraging students to own their learning through discourse based instruction. The program is structured to balance the standards allowing students to develop deep conceptual understanding, procedural skills and fluency, and to learn to apply this knowledge to real world situations. Unit instruction design includes:

  • 3 types of lessons: Understand lessons, Strategy lessons, and Math-In-Action lessons.

  • Opportunities to explore, develop, refine and assess.

  • Discourse based instructions. In the elementary grades students use a "Try-it, Discuss-it, Connect-it" routine. In middle school, students follow a "Think, Share, Compare" routine.

  • A digital platform (i-ready) to enhance independent learning activities. This platform provides digital math tools, interactive learning games, and a personalized instructional path.
