Clubs and Activities

H. W. Porter offers free Before School Care and a variety of After School Clubs and Activities. Please scroll below to learn more.

Before School Care

  • Free of charge to families with children at HWP.

  • Runs 7:30 am to 8:05 am when the first bell rings (There is no morning care on late opening days).

  • Front door monitor lets children into the building. Children report directly to the cafeteria.

  • Coloring and games available.

  • Children are expected to listen to adults and behave appropriately.

  • Children will receive consequences for misbehavior. Consistent misbehavior may result in child being discharged from the program.

After School Clubs

HWP after school programs will run in 4 sessions for the 2022-2023 school year. In each session there are different clubs that are available Monday through Thursday. Club type and availability are dependent on the facilitators.

Club Facilitators will need to be fingerprinted at EastConn. Stipends are paid for running a club at the end of the club session. If you have any questions, please contact the After School Club Coordinator
